New Zealand’s housing market is increasingly reliant on
townhouses, apartments, retirement units and other higher-density developments.
This shift is not simply an architectural trend. It reflects
changing land values, population growth, planning rules and the need to deliver
more homes within existing urban areas.
For developers, multi-unit construction can provide
efficient use of land and repeatable building systems. It can also introduce
risks that are less significant in a single standalone house.
